Fountain of youth, live longer and life expectancy

Looking for the Fountain of Youth has led humans to search every corner of the earth. This useless quest for anti-aging miracle has only led to plastic surgery.

So, how to live longer, look and feel younger? Can we beat life expectancy?

There are many claims that life extension became a science of anti-aging medicine, movement of experimental gerontology, biomedical gerontology, and the study of slowing down or reversing the processes of aging to extend the maximum lifespan and live longer.

Some researchers in this area and those who wish to live longer, believe that future breakthroughs in tissue rejuvenation, regenerative medicine, pharmaceuticals, and organ replacement will enable humans to have indefinite lifespans.

So, is it possible to increase life expectancy?

David A. Sinclair, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and a co-joint Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of New South Wales. He is a lab founder at Harvard Medical School. The Sinclair studies genes that slow the pace of aging. ” The Sinclair laboratory is driven to find genes and small molecules that can slow the pace of aging.”Professor David Sinclair claims that he and his research team have discovered genes which control aging. These genes can be manipulated, which results in reversing aging in lab mice. The researchers suggest that the breakthrough in reversing aging can help pharmaceutical companies develop drugs that can rejuvenate human cells and restore youthfulness.

The elixir of life is Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), the discovery by University of New South Wales and lead researcher Professor David Sinclair. What’s more, Professor David Sinclair says his drugs have the potential to help some people enjoy a healthy life until the age of 150. However, this needs further research.

Another anti-aging enthusiast Ray Kurzweil (American author, computer scientist, inventor and is a director of engineering at Google) takes 150 to 200 pills a day because he wants to live to 2040.More details are in his book, with co autor Terry Grossman, M.D., (the founder and medical director of the Grossman Wellness Center in Denver, Colorado) Fantastic Voyage: Live Long Enough to Live Forever. The basic premise of the book is that if middle-aged people can live long enough, until approximately 120, they will be able to live forever—as humanity overcomes all diseases and life-extending technologies start up.

Btw the longest-living person by Guinness World Records was Jeanne Calment, a French woman who lived to age of 122.
Life expectancy
Population longevities are increasing as life expectancies (statistical measure of how long a person may live) around the world grow:
  • Australia: 80 years in 2002, 81.72 years in 2010
  • Italy: 79.25 years in 2002, 80.33 years in 2010
  • France: 79.05 years in 2002, 81.09 years in 2010
  • Germany: 77.78 years in 2002, 79.41 years in 2010
  • UK: 80 years in 2002, 81.73 years in 2010
  • USA: 77.4 years in 2002, 78.24 years in 2010

Some studies goes even further and claims that by the age of 2050 people’s average life expectancy will be about 100 years.

Anti-aging future?
Maybe one day there will be miracle pill that will restore our youth. Till then we just need to stay alive… Protection Status
